Membership Dir

Madisen Dattilo

Madisen Dattilo joined the club as a junior line skier in 2004 and has been a member ever since. She enjoyed growing up within the club—starting on junior line, then moving on to junior ballet, ballet line, pyramids, around the boat, swivel—you name it, she's skied it.

While attending college in Florida, she had the opportunity to ski with another team during the off-season. During that time, she also participated in setting a world record for the largest water ski ballet line in 2017 at the Chain of Records event.

After graduating, she stayed in Florida for a few years but always returned home each summer to ski and volunteer as a coach. Two years ago, she decided to move back home to Lake St. Louis because she truly missed the community and family she had grown up with in our ski club. Since then, she's continued coaching—around the boat, junior line, and Junior Ballet and Showgirls coach for our ShowMe Skiers.

After 21 years in the club as a skier, coach, and pin-puller, she is excited to take on a larger role as Membership Director to help grow and strengthen our club’s membership community.

Dir. of Homeshow

 Buffy McLaughlin

Buffy joined the club in 2002, when her husband Brad and she moved to Lake St. Louis. At first, she was completely in awe of the incredible talent around her. Brad gifted her with her first swivel ski, and from that moment on, she was hooked. Their family quickly became immersed in Arch Rivals, where she found her passion not just in skiing, but also in script writing, show production, showmanship, and leadership as an act captain for swivel, big act, and ballet.
In 2008, she stepped into the role of Show Director, and together the team earned both Division 2 Regional and National Titles with their recreation of Meet Me in St. Louie—a show that had previously won the Sea World Award in 2000. Since then, she's directed five more shows, coached countless skiers in home show swivel and junior ballet/show girls, and served as a judge within the show ski world. Each of these experiences has deepened her love for the sport and strengthened the knowledge she brings to the team.
Looking ahead, her vision is to shape the Home Show into a developmental team that builds directly into the Arch Rival competitive team. She plans to introduce “development” shows prior to Rivals performances, giving the up-and-coming athletes the opportunity to showcase their growing skills and gain confidence on the water.
This mission is personal for her. Her twins, Collin and Ellary, were born in 2003 and began their home show journey at just six years old. They started with kneeboarding and worked their way through junior line, barefoot, jump, swivel, junior ballet/show girls, pyramid, and straps. Today, Collin is landing one-ski front flips, and Ellary has grown into a talented swivel skier who now gives back by coaching. Their entire development began with the Home Show, and it laid the foundation for everything they’ve achieved.
She believes the same is possible for every skier who joins our team. The Home Show is where the future is built and the possibilities are endless.

Past president

Kristy Cross

Kristy Cross grew up as a member of the Lake St. Louis Water Ski Club. She learned to water ski on the club's Junior Line in 1987 at 6 years old. Her family was very involved with the club and Kristy was part of the first year the Arch Rivals Competitive team competed at regionals and nationals in 1999. Kristy stayed active with the Show me Skiers and Arch Rivals until 2002 when she had to spend more time working on her career as an airline pilot. But in 2019, Kristy and her husband and daughter moved back to Lake St. Louis and the 3 of them are skiing together with the ski club. Kristy knew when she had her daughter, Larson, that the best place to raise a family was in Lake St. Louis and being a part of Lake St. Louis Water Ski Club. Now she is serving as President of the Ski Club Board and loves everything about the community and activity.
